All children are artists.

Art has always been a big part of my life growing up.  If my Sister's and I weren't painting, we were designing doll clothes with what ever we could find, drawing on the sidewalk with chalk, or painting with chocolate pudding while licking our fingers clean. We were always finding some way to be creative.

I loved that my Mom was so lenient and gave us so much freedom to create.  I want to incorporate that into my little family and let the boys have their freedom to explore, imagine and create.  Of course with set boundaries.

Yesterday we had a fun filled day, just me and the boys.  Evan works late Mondays and Wednesdays, so on those days I am always trying to find ways to entertain myself and the boys.

So we filled our evening with a little bit of painting, tent making, sprinkler running, mud pie making, bath splashing, story book reading and Good Luck Charlie watching all before bedtime at 8.

I like to keep busy while Evan is gone, and then before I know it, he's home and we can spend some time together just the two of us.

Lately, our evenings have consisted of watching a good documentary on Netflix, watching House Hunters International, or sitting side by side in bed, while he reads and I blog.  Wow we sound old.

Nixon loves painting.  He really takes his time to dip the paint brush into the paint and brush it onto his painting.  Even when he was younger he loved rubbing his hands in the paint and on the canvas.   I did a post of him painting his first painting on our family blog when he was only 18 months old.   He looks so cute and little.  It's fun to look back on my blog and see how much the boys have changed.

Jovi on the other hand, doesn't seem to like it as much.  He painted with the brush for a minute or two and then poked at the paint with his finger.  By the reaction on his face, I don't think he liked touching the paint very much.

I love that I can already see the boys different personalities developing.  They are both so cute in their own little ways.  I know I say this all the time, but I am so so blessed to have them in my life and to be their Mama!
