Upholstery Edging.

I refinished these chairs awhile ago, but never showed how to do the finished edging.  Sooo let me show you.

This is the chair with the upholstered edge.

And this is it without the upholstered edge. See the difference?

So first off, here are some things you will need.

  • Rope
  • Fabric
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors (duh)

So first I measured all along the edge of the chair to see the length of rope I needed.

Next, I cut an inch wide strip of fabric the same length as the rope.

Then I rolled the fabric over the rope and hot glued along the edge.

And for the last step, I glued the fabric rope along the edge of the fabric on the chairs.

And WaaLaa!  The chairs are complete.
