Chasing Squirrels

While Gibson had her morning nap, I sent the boys outside in the jammie's to chase squirrels and ride their wiggle bikes. They thought it was pretty cool that I didn't make them get dressed in clothes first.
As they played, I cleaned up the kitchen and rinsed the breakfast dishes while watching them play through the kitchen window.

I always have dreamt of  having a big fenced in backyard where I could let them roam free and explore in nature.

I still can't believe I'm now living that dream. It feels a little surreal.

After they were done playing, Gibs was up from her nap, so I put them all in the tubby for a scrub down.

The first few days we were here at our new place, our hot water wasn't working, (luckily it was a easy fix) so by this time. I was feeling very grateful for warm water to be able to wash my sweet babes.

We also were without a washer and dryer for a week.
The day they arrived, you bet I was doing all sorts of celebrating as I folded fresh clean laundry and put them away. (Ev was so nice to help me with it, since we had a mountain's of laundry to catch up on.)

It makes you appreciate the little things that we often over look so much more when you have to live without them for a few days or a week.

Best of Friends

Photo's taken at our St. George house.

These two crack me up. They are always coming up with new games and creations.
Pillow trails have been a favorite of theirs. They gather every pillow in the house (seriously, every. pillow.) and make a long trail with them. If they step off the pillow trail that means they fall into the alligators and get eaten by them!

I hear repeatedly throughout the day
"DON'T FALL OFF THE PILLOW TRAIL!"
Because heaven forbid those gators are pretty vicious.

More and more Nixon and Jovi are becoming the best of friends. I love watching them play (nicely) together. Because yes they are little brothers and yes they do have their little fights and arguments at times and yes I am sometimes tempted to tie them both to a chair or pull my hair out. (I haven't done either oh them yet... so that must mean maybe I'm doing something right;)

They are such sweet little boys, who keep me busy and entertained everyday. I love their different looks and personalities. Gibby thinks they're pretty great too.

I'v been trying to slow down a little bit and take it a day at a time lately.
Time is flying by way too fast and I know I will never get this time I have with them back.

Happy Monday!

To BE a Kid.

A child who does not play is not a child, but the man who does not play has lost forever the child who lived in him.  ~Pablo Neruda

Growing up, my Mom was pretty awesome at letting us be creative, explore and get messy.
I think those are the times I remember the most.

I was one who preferred the outdoors.
I would rather mow the lawn than help with laundry, and shovel dog poop over doing the dishes!
It's the truth.
To this day, for some reason dishes are my worst nightmare.
Babe is aware of this and is so nice to help me with them once and awhile. He's pretty great:).

Anyways I guess what I'm getting at is, I love the outdoors and I love that my Boys love it too.
Between our house and Grammas house, playing in sand and mud is their top favorite thing to do.

More than anything, I want to give my children what my Mom gave me, and that is the chance to be ME.
To BE a Kid, explore, create and get messy.
Those are my fondest memories and I hope they will be my Kiddos favorite too.
I owe it all to my amazing Mama.

Duvet Tent

D u v e t   T e n t

A r t  C l a s s

I'm sure the boys have been feeling a little neglect with having to share their Mama with new baby Sister.
So I have been trying to get back into the swing of things and do some activities with them to try and mix up their TV intake lately.

I found the duvet tent idea over at Adventures in Pinksugarland and thought it would be fun to try it out on the boys.

They thought it was pretty cool.
Nixon reassured me with a big hug and said "You're the best Mom evvver!"

I can't take credit for the art class idea, that was all Nixon.
He came up to me and said "Hey I have an idea! Let's paint a picture for my new baby Sister!"
So they did, then hug it up by her crib so she could see it.
I thought it was a pretty fantastic idea;)

The Boys Birthday Parties

Jovi's 2nd birthday party

Nixon's 3rd birthday party

Nixon's birthday is in April and Jovi's is in June. I always get so excited to plan Nixon's birthday party. I love planning parties. And then when Jovi's birthday rolls around, it's almost like I'm all partied out (the reason he didn't get a 1st birthday party, oops!)  If their birthdays were closer I would just have one big party and celebrate them together.

Well after planning and throwing Nixon's party this year, I wasn't feeling up for another party or even had started planning one for Jov. The day before his birthday I was telling my Sister Chantelle how I felt bad that we always threw a party for Nix and never one for Jovi. Being my cute Sister that she is, perks up and says, "well let's throw him one!" She came up with the theme and we started throwing ideas together for the party. With just a day and a half to prepare, I think it turned out perfect! I could have never pulled off either of their parties without the help of my Mama and Sister! They always pull around for me.

Jovi was so funny at his party. He hated when we put candles on his cake and lit them. He kept making pouty faces and would say, "no hot hot". Babe had to help him blow out the candles because he wanted nothing to do with them, haha. My favorite part of the day had to of been watching him opening his presents. The look on his face when he opened up his water guns was priceless!

Indoor Activities

The weather here has been playing tricks on us. One day it gets up to 60 degrees and we are outside on the lawn eating chips ahoy while the boys make mud pies. And then the next day we are bundle up by the fire reading stories trying to stay warm.

I can't complain too much, at least we don't have to deal with the snow. It's pretty and fun for a minute, but I definitely don't miss living in it.

The other morning we woke up to fog. It was beautiful. Of course I had to grab my camera and capture the moment. We hardly ever get fog here.

Since it's been way too cold for playing outside the past few days, I have been trying to think a new ways to entertain two busy little boys.

The first one we came up with is a B U B B L E | B A T H !  Probably not the kind you are thinking of, I'm talking about the kind of bubbles you blow. They loved it. Last year some of our friends gave Nixon a bubble gun for his birthday, which I am a big fan of. All you do is push a button and waalaa instant bubbles! No more - out of breathe, blue in the face, not blowing the bubbles fast enough Mama for me;)

The next thing we did is I N D O O R | C H A L K. Nixon loves going outside in the summer to draw with chalk, and since it's been too cold for that, we had to improvise. I laid out a long piece of paper, taped it to the floor, and the boys went to town drawing on it with chalk.
